A low culture manifesto.

Normally I don't like non-novels but I read the first few pages of this in the store and I had to buy it. If you are a pop culture junkie, you should appreciate this book.

The author Chuck Klosterman starts the book with a rant about how John Cusak should be the biggest fucking star in the world because women are all obsessed with him.

It's a little bit ADD and all over the place, but that is the point.

it's worth reading just for the chapter on Billy Joel. The chapter on the Real World, however, was pretty brutal IMO.

My ex-girlfriend read this book and made me read it because "It's you, to a T, in print form."

She said the only difference was that she could close the book when she didn't want to listen this Klosterman anymore. :|

I've considered buying his other book "Killing Yourself to Live" the last few times I've gone to the bookstore. I am now intriqued.

The first few pages are great, although I can't relate to all he says. I notice Black Flag and Pearl Jam both are mentioned later. Context?

ive read both. both are fucking hilarious. killing yourself to live is a better read becaue its more focused, as far as klosterman goes. Fucking hilarity ensues when he discuses relationships. He's usualyl spot on too, at least in my opinion.

He's hilarious, he tears about coldplay like you wouldnt believe. he is obsessed with music and thats always fun to read about.

The entire part on the sims is priceless.

teenage girls are the new teenage boys, and the Dixie Chicks are the new Van Halen, so country music is awesome....

I prefer Killing yourself to live over sex, drugs and cocoa puffs.
