I was bored this weekend and rented this game on a whim since I hadn't played a racing game in a while and I always enjoyed the NFS franchise. I was actually surprised at how much fun it was (i probably wasted damn near 20 hours this weekend playing it, which I haven't done in years).

My only beef is with the lack variety of cars used. Almost every one is either an exotic import or a compact, except for a Mustang GT, a Viper and maybe another 1 or 2. I would have liked to see more big block muscle cars or maybe even some trucks or something just for a change of pace.

The highlight of the game IMO is running from the cops, which is a fucking blast, probably even more fun than the actual in-game racing. Also enjoyable is the free-roam mode, where you can drive around the entire city (same idea as GTA, Driver, etc) looking for trouble, and it gives the police chases a great level of spontanaety instead of just racing around a track.
