I just saw this movie over the weekend. Brilliant. I really enjoyed the story of Harvey Pekar, a true American. The way they incorpareted the the real people from this story into the movie was genious. Paul Giamatti is an amazing actor, it had to be a very intimadating task to reprise a role of a living man that you see everyday while filming. I'm really glad this movie exsits, because I would never have known who Harvey Pekar was. This truely is a movie about the common man and his everyday stuggles.

I really enjoyed American Splendor. I didn't know who Harvey Pekar was either, but I loved the style of the movie, using the real people as well as the actors.

If you liked American Splendor, Crumb is amazing. It's purely a documentary, but every bit as fascinating as the Pekar movie. In fact, Crumb's life is a LOT more fucked up than Harvey's life is, and the film dives much more deeply into him. It can be quite frightening.

I loved this movie. I used to watch Harvey Pekar when he was on Letterman, so I was really looking forward to it. Paul Giamatti did a great job, and I'm glad Harvey was in it himself. I liked the way it switched from the movie to "reality".

Great movie. Certain parts really came through and showed Pekar's sense of humanity, especially the part that concerned "Our Cancer Year". Probably Giamatti's best acting job, which is saying a lot.

no- his best role/performance, thus far, was that of Pig Vomit.

what's pig vomit about?!?!?
You're the one from Alabama, you tell us.
Seriously, Pig Vomit was Giamatti's character's name in the Howard Stern movie, Private Parts. He played Howard's boss at WNBC.
