Documentary on the Friedmans, a seemingly typical, upper-middleclass Jewish family whose world is instantly transformed when the father and his youngest son are arrested and charged with shocking and horrible crimes.

This is one of the best docs I've seen in a while. I was very young during the 80s and I had no idea that the hysteria surrounding child molestation was this wild. I think this was made very well and it is very fair. If you cna get a hold of the dvd, watch the special features. Very interesting.

So what are your thoughts? Do you think that any molestation actually occurred with the computer students in the Freidman house?

Very challenging film. I highly recommend it.

Great film. Very disturbing. I can't exactly remember how I ended up coming down on it, whether I thought they were guilty or not. I seem to think that the father had some pictures, EuroMags or something, but there was no real evidence against him for actual molestation. The son I thought was completely innocent.

I definitely think something happened, but nowhere near the extent of what they were charged with. What I found most fascinating was how these people just seemed to have created their own little reality...it seemed like it never really sank in just how much trouble they were in.
