Heard nothing but good things about this movie. It was filmed as one continuous 90 minute shot, that took a year of rehearsal and 2 takes before getting it right. Its supposedly a staged, beautiful synopsis of Russian history.

So did anyone else actually see this? I watched it over the summer and thought it was, indeed, fascinating. The one-shot technique worked very well and the film didn't come off as a gimmick. It could be considered a little esoteric - not knowing a great deal about Russian history, I'm sure a lot went over my head, but it still is interesting enough just as a film to be consistently engaging. I certainly was never bored. It's a one-of-a-kind experience.
And on a sidenote - the fact that the camera is constantly moving and that I had to read subtitles actually gave me slight motion sickness at times, like reading in a car. Crazy.
