I hadn't heard much about this movie until recently when a buddy of mine suggested watching the trailer. I've gotta say, it looks like it could be campy B-movie fun. It's coming off like a complete "Night of the Creeps" knock-off to me, but I'm fine with that, I love those kinds of movies.
Plus it has the cute girl from the Office in it.

Looks like I won't get to see this one until probably sometime next week at the earlier, but I wanted to give it a bump for this Friday. I've seen some more spots for it and it looks really good.

I'll take a fever over moving any day of the week. This whole week is pretty much shot regardless. But I feel what you're saying.

I dunno, I guess I'm jaded with stuff like this, but it just never shocked or grossed me out. I was hoping for some really crazy Dead-Alive shit, but it was just kinda...mainstream. Meh.

i got a weird feeling from the trailers. like they were trying to sell it almost as 'this is a serious movie, but it's also comedy'

Nah, it's not serious at all.
ok. that actually clears it up for me.

I finally got to see this and thought it was a blast. Just the sheer number of homages going on there made it worth it for me. Loved the whole "Night of the Creeps" vibe going with the plot, the "Night of the Living Dead" basement scene and of course the Barbara Crampton/Reanimator parts near the end. It's a great argument against doing remakes, why bother when you can do stuff like this?
On the down side, it definitely wasn't that gory and if you're going to break all 80's horror movie on us, where's the obligatory tit shot? Come on! I liked Jenna Fischer's (the Office) short role as the Dispatcher in this, but then again, I just love her in general. Overall, I thought it was a lot of fun. Definitely more humor than horror but a fun little B-Movie that knew better than to forget it was a B-movie.

That was my real problem with it. It had an ad campaign essentially saying it was one of the most gruesome movies ever made. It constantly ran quotes from well-recognized horror-lovers talking about how "sick and twisted" it is. It put itself on such a high pedestal, then just didn't deliver at all. Anyone who's seen a few obscure horror movies has seen 10x worse in terms of gore/gross-out stuff.
And, I mean, it really wasn't even very funny. The only part that had me laughing was the "WE'RE ITCHY!" line.

I laughed quite a bit, but then again I love the kind of cheesy humor. Definitely not gory or gross though, I don't know what they were thinking there. The Dawn remake was gorier than that. Do you like Troma movies at all?
