Is there a worse genre of films? There are so few good ones out there and so many that suck. It must be because they all try to use pretty much the same formula.

How many truly good action films can you name, and I am not looking for a drama with a little action sprinkled in either. To get us started...

The Terminator Series
Kill Bill 1&2

Yes, Die Hard. And Die Hard With a Vengeance.

Also:

Commando
True Lies
Aliens
First Blood
The Matrix
Robocop
Starship Troopers
Total Recall

Yeah, some are sci-fi action, but whatever.

Isn't it sad how many of the good ones have Arnold in them?

If by "sad" you mean "awesome".

Speaking of Arnold how about "Conan"

"Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you! "

No offense to anyone, as I know there are a lot of fans.

BUT there tends to be just as many, or more, crappy horror movies as action movies.

I'd say the ratio of quality horror films to shitty horror films is drastically higher than the ratio of quality action films to shitty action films.

I think most action films are generally mediocre, whereas horror movies are either extremely well done or extremely poorly done.

Anybody with any dignity should read this. Also, has anyone seen that preview for The Marine? Cheese-fest 2006.

Definitely don't forget that one. I love action movies when they're done right, which is few and far between.

What about the Running Man?
