Normally I'd agree. But in my understanding of Tolkiens works, Dwarves didn't have def leppard haircuts. Everything I thought I knew is wrong. Or Jackson is an unneccessary change making, inner vision ruining douche.

So...

Yey. Middle earth looks even more impressive.
The 'wargs' look like proper wolves. Good move.
The mountain trolls actually look menacing.
Hugo Weaving ... How does he attain that air of gravitas???? It's brilliant!!
Martin Freeman.. Can't find a better Bilbo. Ever.
Aerial shots of Hobbiton. Amazeballs.

And finally...

Gandalf the GREY!!!

The infinitely preferable Gandalf. And McKellan plays it perfectly.

The dwarves look like def leppard got cast instead of dwarves but hopefully it'll be unnoticeable.

Cannot wait for these films roll on December.

They should have shot the hobbits and dwarves from a regular perspective and made elves and dwarves look supertall. That was probably GDT's idea. He had some strange ideas for this film.

Probably as a tease for the second movie. It's been awhile since I've read the book but isn't the dragon sort of near the end?

Looks like we we won't see Smaug the dragon until summer of 2014. I love the a for playing him, and he is sort of reptilian in looks and movement (Benedict Cumberbatch) so I think it'll be worth the wait thoug the films are gOing to have to remind us periodically whatyhey are actually hoping to achieve. I have high hopes.

There's one not 2 miles from my house and it's the only one in a 500-mile radius. I should get tickets soon.

People are saying don't see this in HFR. Aside from the nausea and headaches it's giving people, the image is so clear that you can see it's raining but not getting o their faces and heads and it's showing up stuff like the make up etc.

It really sounds like this movie needed an editor. I can understand having a long movie for the LOTR trilogy, but between King Kong and this I feel Peter Jackson just doesn't know when to take out the scissors. Granted, I have not seen this movie. It's just the worry I have.
