It's funny you started this thread now about the same time I posted in the favorit book thread that this was my favorite book series. I can't wait for the movies. Hopefully they will do it justice.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy also mentions alcohol. It says that the best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

It says that the effect of drinking a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick.

The Guide also tells you on which planets the best Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters are mixed, how much you can expect to pay for one and what voluntary organizations exist to help you rehabilitate afterward."

I'd definitely like to try one. :D

The movie will either be hott shit or it will be pus. I have my fingers crossed for hottness, 'cause I seriously don't like pus and I am quite sentimental when it comes to Douglas Adams and his Guide.

But pus aside, I understand that Shynola are heavily involved in post-production, and because I consider them demi-gods I have a really good feeling about this transfer from page to film. This should turn out GREAT.

I'm over half-way through it, and I FUCKING LOVE THIS PIECE OF AMAZING BRILLIANCE.

My god, it's hilarious, ingenius, and imaginative as hell. I really hope Disney doesn't fuck this thing up too bad.

From what I've seen from the designs and casting, it could work really well. A lot of designs are not at all what you'd expect, but they work for me.

I'm reading through the entire series right now in anticipation for the movie. Marvin rocks.

Arthur is being played by Martin Freeman from The Office. I have hope for this yet.

On the site to which I posted the URL earlier there is a cast-gallery with mugshots. Trillian is cast spot-on!

That is not at all how I pictured Marvin, but I like it.

We should expect a movie that quite differs from the books, the radio show and the TV show. The script has a new angle to the story, there are new plot elements and even a few new characters. So if you get in line on the day of the premier and is eager to see a film adaptation of the books/Radio/TV-show, you are most likely bound to become disappointed. The story is probably mostly reinvented, but rest assured that it's all still Douglas Adams.
