IF it came down to it and you had to pick best picture of the year between these two films, how would you go?

Scorseces (sp?) never has one an oscar and comedies generally never get best picture nods.

anyways, interested to hear. and saying they won't be picked is weak. either play along or don't. don't be a dick about it.

i don't know what i'd pick cause that's tough but i'm pretty sure the academy would pick the departed for the simple fact that scorcese hasn't gotten an oscar.

I haven't seen departed, but Little Miss was so damn good...I guess I should see departed though before commenting further.

My girlfriend and I are seeing The Departed tonight. Little Miss Sunshine was pretty damn good, so I'm thinking it'll be a tough choice.

what is this about?

It's a neo-Noir with highly stylized dialogue set in a high school. It's wild.

My vote is definitely for The Departed between these two.

I saw The Prestige over the weekend, and I think that I actually like that more than The Departed, but I guess that comparison is for another thread.

The Prestige was pretty good but I must admit all that shit about magic and cloning was very lame

I liked Brick a lot as well. Haven't seen the others though.
