Movie by Ang Lee (Crounching Tiger), just saw it taped off IFC.
Its completely different than that film (it also came out in 1997), has tons of stars (think Robert Altman), the basic plot and setting are rich suburbanites in the 1970s experimenting with sexuality (married couples, teenagers, one of the kids looks no older than 11 or 12) and the consequences...very indie, think Ghost World, but a much better film.
The ending is pretty terrible but its still a pretty good movie. I would buy this one if I found it cheap.

It was a great flick. Really got the whole disenchanted sad person thing down. I love Ang Lee, even the Hulk.
Yea, I was rather surprised to see that he directed this movie. I'm very impressed.

It's a well-made, well-acted movie, but I just can't say I liked it. It's not that I don't like downbeat films, but this one just didn't sit well, for some reason.

I watched that on a mid-summers day and I still came out of the movie with my heart completely frozen. I wish Tobey Macguire would do more movies of this kind.

The cinematography was exceptional in this film
