this movie deserves its own topic. it was one of my favorites growing up. i love the stop motion effects, they just give it a nice touch of nostalgia.

i also see that there is a remake in the works.

the effects are dated, but medusa holds up. she's scary shit. i show tha bit to my 9th graders during the mythology unit.

Funny, my first thought was that this is a remake I don't think should be done. The story itself is kind of lame, and it's the dated special effects that make it really cool.

And I agree with the praise for PG nudity. :thumbsup:

I watched this recently and the main character looks like such a douche it is almost unimaginable that a person looking like that could exist. He is seriously the most ridiculous actor I have ever seen in a movie - period. Anyway, it's a good movie. The owl is awesome.

there's worse lookin douches. The main character in Hostel comes to mind

Not even close man. This guy goes way, way beyond simple bad acting.

definitely a favorite growing up

although it may have been the nudity that attracted me

it definitely is less impressive now
