...Guess.

For the first time in 30 some years, a contestant guesses the exact value of the showcase. But that's not the only thing that makes this clip memorable. The other contestant was within $500 of her showcase, which meant she would have won both showcases had her guess been closer than the other guys'. Unfortunately it didn't work out for her. And what's up with Drew's non-reaction?

Pssh! Barney Stinson did it in '07.

Drews non-reaction was most likely due to a stop down in tape for like 30 minutes between the showcases and the reveal of the winner.
The contestant got his winning exact bid from someone in the audience who had many of the prices of prizes memorized and had been helping people the entire show.
I guess they had to stop down and discuss with standards and practices if this would be considered cheating.

I always thought that you had to come within $100 of the actual-retail price to win both showcases. Am I mistaken or did they change the rule?

That sounds about right. Anyone with a cell phone with internet access could check the prices of everything, then feed it to the contestant. That was way to random a number to be a guess

Theres no cell phones allowed in the studio... there are people who sit around and memorize all the prices to stuff on the show.

And I know a lady who was a contestant on the show maybe 20 years ago, and she says that Bob Barker cheated for her, telling her what to do while Rod was talking about the products.

He's a step below Hugh Hefner on the amount of grade A+ ass he's tapped as an old geezer.

Yeah, that was a pretty clear cheat right there. $23743? A difference of $0? Bullshit. That wasn't a "guess".

That's pretty blatant cheating. Good on him.
