I dunno, I'm not as dead-set against remakes as a lot of people are. However, this quote from Wikipedia pretty much assures this will be pandering to the Twilight crowd:
Quote:
Producer Simon Oakes has made it clear that the plot of Let Me In will closely resemble that of the original film, except that it will be made "very accessible to a wider audience"; "[It has] the same beats, maybe the scares are a little bit more scary. We've been able to ramp that up quite a lot, obviously for budgetary reasons.

I'm all for remakes, 30 years later. "Let The Right One In" is only a couple of years old, and is perfectly fine how it is. This just seems to be lazy film making imo.

Wait, what's the difference?
Actually, as I decided to think about my statement due to your quote, I realize there isn't a difference. I guess this just stands out to me because the original in this case is still new itself.

It looks shitty, Ruddock.
I was over at my folks house earlier. I kept telling my dad about the original, and he didn't sound interested. After we had dinner, he saw the trailer for the American version and said "that looks pretty good".

Saw this on Thurs. It wasn't what I thought it'd be but I really enjoyed it. The dynamic with the two kids in a budding romance was kinda sweet, in a "girl needs to drink blood to live" kinda way.

But did you see the original first?

No I did not. I was playing here briefly but I never got a chance to see it.

It's available on dvd now. I'd be interested in hearing what you (or anyone else who has seen both) think of the first vs. the remake.
