I know there was another thread for this movie but it was actuallly just about the lack of Natalie Portman nude scenes. There has been enough talk of that, we all agree it is a lesser film without them, but what about the rest of the movie?

Julia Roberts is wrong for the role. Period. Listening to her and Clive talk about sex when he finds out she has been having an affair is laughable and unconvincing.

The other three main actors were pretty well cast, I think. The doctor is by far the best in his role, but Natalie Portman is surprisingly good.

Although it wasn't anything groundbreaking, I found it made me think more than most movies I have seen recently. I'm not really sure about what, but the ending was very thought provoking and gave the characters so much more depth and mystery.

Also, I liked the ending; it reminded me of The Usual Suspects (but not quite that good).

So there is my second, very vague and confusing movie review (the first being garden state). Enjoy! :D

i totally agree with you about julia roberts... other than her i thought the movie was excellent right down to the soundtrack picks. i was so SO impressed with natalie portman. she has really matured into a great actress over her past few projects... i really wanted to go out and rent garden state after seeing this because i just couldn't get enough of her!

i loved how honest the movie was... it was just emotionally raw. one of the best films i have seen in the theatres in quite some time. i walked out of the movie really liking it but feeling at the same time like i didn't quite understand it. for a movie that billed itself about sex i thought it dealt with issues far deeper... the characters were developed really well, i just wanted to know more about every single one of them.

i think i have to go see it again, lol.

I really want to see this movie, it's exactly the kind of film that I like. I'll have to try and make a trip to Austin to see it.
