I hope they keep the 2006 concert footage to a minimum and show us the older clips of the band in their classic years, circa '65-'73. I don't mind some newer concert footage interspersed throughout, but it'd be a much better doc if it focuses on the life of the band and its music.

Oh I agree. I hope it's more of a "No Direction Home" than anything else. If they cut back to present day footage fine, but yea I hope it's a life story

A career-spanning documentary on the Rolling Stones, with concert footage from their "A Bigger Bang" tour.

That's from IMDB. So I guess that is good

I doubt I'll get to see it theatrically, but I definitely would like to check this out.

If it's half as good as Last Waltz, I'll be happy.

I kind of wanted a straight-forward doc about the Stones career, Swinging London, etc. but Scorsese should be able to do something really good with this

I hope

If it's anything like the Last Waltz, I'm gonna be disappointed. I really don't wanna see Scorsese do the same doc format with another band; I'm hoping he brings something fresh to the table with this one. Given that it's Scorsese, I don't know why I'm worried. Possibly because it's the Rolling Stones of 2006.

Agreed. I love Last Waltz, but I don't want this to be a copy of that film.

The best thing they could ever possibly do is release a 'making of' documentary with footage for Exile on Main Street.

I'd buy that DVD in a heartbeat.
