Eric Idle was on Jon Stewart to promote SPAMalot: A musical version of MP & the Holy Grail that is opening in New York. No other original Python members are involved (and Eric is only behind the scenes).

When I saw that episode of the Daily Show I was sitting there trying to figure out how exactly I could make it out to New York to see this. How fantastic will this be with that cast?

So, I finally got my wish and saw the musical yesterday. I don't know if I've ever laughed so much. This thing is pure genius. I might go so far as to say it's better than the film it's "lovingly ripped off from".

Anyone else out there managed to catch the show? I'm thinking I'll see it again at least once more. Probably wait for Hank Azaria to return to the cast, although Alan Tudyk was fantastic in his place.

I just returned from NYC today...

we saw Spamalot on Wednesday night - I really enjoyed it...

Afterwards we hung around the stage door and met David Hyde Pierce, Alan Tudyck and Sara Ramirez (she's the Lady of the Lake in the show)

It, along with Avenue Q, were my favorite shows this week...
