Lately I've been a sucker for historical dramas. Haven't seen the original Elizabeth, but Cate Blanchett is usually a terrific actress.

The first movie is good. It's missing something that I can't put my finger on right now, but it might just be a sequel that it's missing. I look forward to this film.

Fortunately Elizabeth ran on tv over the weekend so I was able to be refreshed on how she came to power and swore off men to lead the Monarchy. I'm thinkin the next movie will be even better than the first. Sure, Clive Owen isn't shooting people, but still, he knows what he's doin.

This one looks a little more rococo, so to speak. The first one was really good, and Clive Owen can only make this better. I may have to see this in the theater.
