A couple of nights ago I watched Mulholland Dr. and certain parts of the movie I really liked. The scene with the clumsy hit man comes to mind. Anyway, I’m attempting to piece together the story line. I’ve got certain parts down. Well, I think I have certain segments of this film down.

Just read an explanation of it online somewhere. That's what I did after watching the movie...it was like 10 pages long and it blew my mind.

I just got done reading one of them. I was slightly off and yeah, it blew my mind. Hell of an idea

It took me a few viewings to "get" it, but to be honest I think it's just as wonderful a film experience the first time around when it's just a bunch of images tied together that are extremely mesmerizing. Visually, it's stunning, and my favorite of Lynch's directorial works. I don't think you have to solve anything to really become immersed and enjoy this movie.

I didn't think to look at someone's perspective on the internet - I like it from my perspective, and I'd be afraid that it was different than someone else's. So I decided not to talk about it with anyone.

One of the best films of the decade. Its a great critique of the hollywood system and the celebrity ideal. Only Lynch could give it such a disturbing and obssessive perspective.

Expand upon this please.

I really love the movie, I could put it on just for the visuals and atmosphere or actually try to engage myself in the many different interpretations I could come up with for it. I always found the story to be pretty similar to Lost Highway but I think it surpasses it in visuals and style.

This was supposed to be a TV show on ABC, I believe, but they chickened out. The pilot was reworked into the film you've all seen (eg more hot lesbo action). The pilot has been available on eBay on and off. I keep meaning to get it.

Safe to say it would have been different then the typical abc fare
