Most of my film watching has centered on the more serious genres lately. What are some good comedies? I'm not necessarily looking for anything groundbreaking, I'll take guilty pleasures as well.

How is Clerks?

yes to Clerks...but have you seen Fire Walk With Me yet??

i'm a big fan of Ace Ventura Pet Detective, probably alone on that one though. Big Lebowski, some Woody Allen stuff

Big Lebowski isn't that much of a comedy...

see the big lewbowski definitely, one of the funniest movies of all time... don't know how you missed it. the trouble with harry is a good hitchcock comedy, (not the best actors) but a great movie.

for some reason i've missed some big movies along the years. i haven't seen office space either, although i have it on dvd, i'm afraid it'll turn me off of working.

Basically anything Judd Apatow, Edgar Wright, Wes Anderson, Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Kevin Smith or Monty Python has done I'd recommend.
Also:
Best in Show
Borat
Mr. Bean's anything
Being There
Rat Race
Just Friends
Stranger than Fiction
Wedding Crashers
School of Rock
Happy Gilmore
Big Daddy
