You should have asked me a couple months ago. I already submitted two of them.

I wouldn't mind reading them.

For fear of being banned from the forum, I didn't like this movie.

Tell us why, Ruddock.

It felt like the director went out of his way to get all creative and 'independent' in the storytelling. Could have been a great story but I just felt disconnected.

I'm a rube though, so don't put much weight in what I say.

Stupid filmmakers, getting all "creative".

That's not what I meant, Jorge. It just felt like forced creativity, if that is such a thing.

That forced creativity is Malick going off of his instinct during filming and editing. The man did the same thing with The Thin Red Line and New World, it's just the way he operates. It's not for everyone.

But I invite everyone to read the script. It is a fantastic collection of stream of conscious prose. It reads more like a novel than a script. Great stuff.

Does this look like a man who tries too hard to be creative?

Finally saw this. Malik's movies are weird. I can never tell if I like them but they always elicit such strong emotions. It's like my heart says they are brilliant but my head says they are pretentious drivel.
