Royal and Eli might be my favorite characters too, Dev. Definitive the ones I can most empathize with.

I had this one set on the dvr to record on TCM yesterday, but either I forgot to turn the cable box on in time or there was a blackout due to the wind (which there was at some point for sure), so it didn't record. I was looking forward to it, too.
I've seen a few of the director Teshigahara's narrative films. I liked them all, but The Woman in the Dunes is especially unique and interesting.

If it is set to record, the cable box comes on automatically, right?

I didn't watch Le Samourai yet, maybe over the next couple of days.

I did watch Christmas Vacation and Bad Santa. How BBT didn't get an Oscar for that one is beyond me.

Safe House

Great performances by Washington, and I guess Ryan Reynolds, but I'm really sick of these international spy, Bourne rip-offs. Rehashed ideas, and overall just not very good.

And next time I see computer lettering on the bottom left hand screen type out, "C.I.A. Headquarters, Langley, Virginia", I might stop watching.

It must have been about 15 years since I last saw Terminator 2. I forgot what a great movie it is. I just saw the extended version for the first time, it was fantastic.

One of the greatest action movies ever.

Bullitt (1968)

Such brisk pacing. Mcqueen is so cool. I love cop movies from the 60s and 70s.

It's been like 15 years but I remember thinking Bullitt was way overrated. The car chase in particular was a let down after hearing it was the greatest ever. I thought the car chase in Ronin blew it away. One of the last great De Niro performances.

De Niro turns shit ON in Silver Linings Playbook. He hasn't been that good in a decade, at least.
