Watched Serpico and Michael Clayton last night.
Serpico was killer, very stylish, total 70s vibe, a couple of spotty acting performances (the second girlfriend comes to mind) but overall a cool movie.
Michael Clayton was pretty meh I thought. As a "thriller" I didn't find it all that thrilling, and most of the characters seemed to lack depth and just to serve as placeholders almost. The drug addict brother was an example. And although Tilda Swinton did a good job I'm surprised she got an Oscar for her part - her character just didn't feel like that big a part of the story to me.

I actually started it last night. I try finish movies in one sitting but I kept being interrupted so I just said fuck it. Sellers is masterful though.
I personally really liked Michael Clayton. In a bad movie year it could have been the best movie to come out, but this year was really good so it kind of flew under the radar.

I have an econ test tomorrow, but after that I have almost nothing until next Tuesday. I'm going to try to get through: Before the Devil Knows You're Dead, Lumet Night on Earth, Jarmusch (I actually haven't seen this one yet, oops) Manhattan, Woody Allen Brazil, Gilliam Amarcord, Fellini and maybe War Dance, the doc that got an Oscar nom for Best Doc

GONY seems to be one of those movies that inspires pretty divergent opinions. i love it primarily for Bill the Butcher and the sets/costumes/realism of the whole thing. i thought the ending kind of sucked, but other than that i dug it. i think i'd rank it top 2 or 3 in Scorsese films for myself.
