God damn it did I ever build some of the sweetest Lego shit when I was younger. Shit was my life for a while. I'd dump the big tub of them I had all over the floor in my room, listen to Morning Glory to my heart's content, and build fucking worlds. I wish I had some pictures. I remember this one big-ass fort I had one time, place was a goddamn bloodbath of little Lego people limbs by the end of the day, every day. Then I had this big robot a few times, I always considered that my master creation. Fully opposable limbs...I'm trying to think of what he had for hands... I'm thinking one was a giant laser gun. Yeah, man. Legos. Let's talk about them.

The original lego pirate ship may have been the best toy in the creation of mankind.

Never had that specifically, but I had some of the pirate shit. I think my favorite theme was the middle age stuff, that was pretty badass.

The knights and horses were also very cool. Legos are definitely the best toy ever.

I'm trying to get my finances little brother into these things, but the only Lego product he's concerned with is the Lego Star Wars video game. Really tears up my view of video games. Kids need to be playing outside and being creative with Legos, not sitting in front of a tv screen.

Anway, I'll finish this beer and play GTA IV for the remainder of the day

I hate people saying legos. lego is already plural, no need for legos.

Is it really? you must hate everybody, cause I've never heard anyone refer to them in plural as lego.

Lego is the brand. Lego is also an individual piece. Legos is plural.

Quote:
The Lego Group's name has become so synonymous with its flagship toy that many refer to the bricks themselves (collectively) as "Lego" or "Legos" (the latter term being common only in US English), although the Lego Group considers such uses to be trademark dilution. Lego catalogues in the 1970s and 1980s contained a note that read:

"The word LEGO® is a brand name and is very special to all of us in the LEGO Group Companies. We would sincerely like your help in keeping it special. Please always refer to our bricks as 'LEGO Bricks or Toys' and not 'LEGOS.' By doing so, you will be helping to protect and preserve a brand of which we are very proud and that stands for quality the world over. Thank you! Susan Williams, Consumer Services."

The official Lego website is http://www.lego.com. For many years, visitors to http://www.legos.com (also registered to the Lego Group) have received notices similar to the one pictured, and were intentionally redirected to the official website, to further protect the brand.

"Lego" is officially written in all uppercase letters. The company asserts that to protect its brand name, the word Lego must always be used as an adjective, as in "Lego set", "Lego products", "Lego universe", and so forth.

Maybe you should make some other toys, then.

I feel like buying LEGO now... I also liked Playmobil and Ministeck. And my grandfather had some little white plastic bricks to build houses with. It was something pre-LEGO, I guess. Being a girl, I usually played with my Barbies.

groetjes,
Mirella :)
