Wow.

I just watched this and it's quite the spectacle. I didn't "get" a lot of it, but I am impresed by the ambitious beauty of the whole production. The main points are painfully clear, and the humour is spot on (making the people pay for their own torture and interrogation because it is costly "information retrival"). A lot of the transitional/dream scenes were too trippy for me and kinda lost their meaning by drowning in their own pretentious symbolism. Same goes for the ending. Nonetheless, it's one of the best dystopia movies I have ever seen and it doesn't fall into teh cliche'd, 1984 wannabe mode that many films in that genre do.

It's worth watching, if only for all the wild visuals.

Directed by Terry Gilliam of Monty Python fame.

I am under the undeniable impression that everything Terry Gilliam touches turns to gold. Well, this is true of the movies that he directs... All of them that I've seen are incredible.

Brazil and Twelve Monkeys are on my to-buy lists.

Speaking of Terry Gilliam flicks, anyone check out his adaptation of 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' ?

I must've watched it every day for 2 or 3 years of my life. :P

I think I started a Fear and Loathing quotes thread awhile back.

I've had this for years and have yet to make it past the theatrical version:

Great movie but I never seem to be in the mood to watch the different versions.
