It seems like for everything they got right, they got something really wrong. The casting is good, but most of the acting isn't. The only people who seem to have gotten the idea (at least from the trailer) is Christina Ricci and the guy playing the business tycoon or whatever. I'll have to wait and see, I guess. At least they put the grease guns in there.

I had fun watching this. It certainly wasn't a great movie or anything, but it was visually spectacular and really just a cute homage to the old cartoons.
I will say that what's his face from V for Vendetta (the guy that played Prothero) was great, except that I kept expecting him to shout ENGLAND PREVAILS.

There's something I've always wondered about Racer X, and mind you this is coming from someone who's never really seen much of the TV series. I know the deal is that he's Speed's older brother "in hiding", that for as much interaction Speed has with him, he never knows this fact.
But basically, does that come across as silly, because pretty much every other character in the story can tell quite easily that X is Speed's brother? Is it that kind of set up?
I'm also assuming based on all the trailers that Racer X is supposed to be talking that deliberately and stilted, I mean I realize Matthew Fox may not have a ton of fans in the world, but he's not that bad of an actor. His dialogue in the trailers comes off as SO strange and forced, I figure that has to be on purpose.

$20M at the box office. Big-time flop, based on its $160M budget.
Holy shit, yea I just looked at the IMDB breakdown. The Wachowskis must be looking at themselves in disbelief right now, saying "dude, we made the same amount of money as What Happens In Vegas..."
