The jury will be composed of
Sergio Castellitto (italian actor)
Natalie Portman (i think there's no need to introduce her)
Alexandra Maria Lara (german actress)
Alfonso Cuaron (mexican director)
Apichatpong Weerasethakul (thai director)
Rachid Bouchareb (french director)
Marjane Satrapi (french director / comics author)
Jeanne Balibar (french actress)

I just found it extremely dull and uninteresting. A flaccid, soggy script, so-so cinematography, amateurish use of voice-over. Diego Luna is a horrible actor. It's a movie with nothing to say, no real story to tell. Just the onanistic journey* of three very unsympathetic characters from point A to point B.

Some movies get away with this, but this one just bores and frustrates me to tears every time I try to watch it. Interestingly enough, just like Mexican pop band Mana, all English speakers I know love it while all non-Mexican Spanish speakers I know hate it. It must be one of those things.

Cuaron is good. Don't really know anyone else on the panel other than Portman.

Blindness, by Meirelles (City of God) was the opening film of the festival!! Is a movie based on the book written by Jose Saramago. It's a really great book.
I will have to wait till October to watch it, but I bet it's a great movie!!
