Trailer for season 2. Start January 9th. Good times.
I've never watched it. But I just read the synopsis on hbo.com. It looks very cool. I'd always kinda thought it was sort of an X-Files during the Depression. But HBO is playing up the whole good vs. evil plot in that write-up, which is much cooler. Is that really the focus? Or is it more episodic?

I've been wondering when the second season would pick up. Good news. Now, I have something to watch during the craptastic month of January. I'd say the show is similar to xfiles in the sense that it's dark, creepy and full of odd characters. During the first season, there were underlying plotlines that tied each episode together, but a few episodes could be considered episodic.
The show really is about good and evil at its most basic elements. The two main characters, Ben and Reverend each have tremndous gifts. Ben can heal any living thing, but its use has dire consequences, thus he rarely uses it. The Reverend, however, uses his gift to manipulate others unto his will--which usually isn't good stuff.

I don't miss it. In fact I've kind of been planning my entire week around it recently.
I have to disagree with you about last night's episode though. It was good, but the week before was the best one yet IMO. Maybe I was just let down by this one because I felt like I got cheated out of 15 minutes of show since it was so short. When you plan your whole week around a show, you want your full 60 minutes worth.

Yeah, but I think the content of the episode made up for its length. Come on, man, we got blue blood.

I think the momentum on this show is just going to build from here on in. What are there 5 episodes left now? I can't wait for the next episode now every week.
Unfortunately, next weekend is the gay superbowl, so I guess I'll have to watch one of the other nights next week.

I GET CUSTOMERS AT WORK WHO TYPE IN ALL CAPS AND IT MIGHT BE THE MOST ANNOYING THING IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. IT IS TYPICALLY A SIGN THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO EXPEND ANY EFFORT WHATSOEVER IN FIGURING OUT THEIR OWN PROBLEMS.

Great episode last night. Cool to see a bit of background on Jonesy's "old life." And damn, I never pictured being tarred and feathered quite like that. Eep.
