Thanks be to God that I finally have one of these small art-house movie theaters around me... they have all kinds of kickass flicks (I'm going to see Gonzo tomorrow, the documentary on Hunter S Thompson narrated by Johnny Depp), and Mongol was one of them, which I saw today.
All I could say walking out (among the 20+ 60-year olds on half-price senior afternoon) was "whoa." The final battle scene was the definition of epic, and the soundtrack... holy crap the soundtrack. If there's anything more eerie than Mongolian songs from the mouth of Ghengis himself, damn...
But yeah, if you're into the whole historical epics, this one's for you. I'm going to see Dark Knight on Thursday night and I can't imagine myself liking it more.
