It's due out July 16th. Rumor has it that she's finished the last book, as well. The sixth book will be short - maybe her Song of Susannah?

Glad to hear I'm not the only 20 something to enjoy those books. Man, the 5th book was great...but it had that feeling of "will ANYthing EVER go the way of the protagonists"...which I think lended itself to people not enjoying it as much

i thought the fifth was the best book of the series by far, rivalled only by the third.

i'm looking forward to downloading the audiobook once it hits suprnova and listening to it during my commute, heh.

I agree that the series has been getting better and better. Order of the Phoenix was by far the best...so emotionally charged.

And, yeah, there are a lot of us 20-somethings excited about this. I kept checking mugglenet for the release date after the announcement yesterday. I'm such a geek. But I've already pre-ordered my copy from Amazon, so I'm a happy geek. :)

yeah, i heard about that. i'm sure i won't have a lot of trouble doing so; killing one filesharing site usually results in two new ones popping up to replace it

They better get the primary filming done on the rest of these because those kids are grown adults now, the believability of them being in what is approximately equal to 10th through 12th grade is waining.

They are completing a film every year and a half. At that rate, the kids will be around 20 or so when filming finishes on film 7, it won't be too much of a stretch for 20 year olds to be playing 17-18 year olds

I think the Emma Watson (I think that's her name) that plays Hermoine was 14 towards the end of the 3rd film when they were supposed to be 13. It's a slight stretch, but considering that they have Tom Welling playing a senior in high school on Smallville, and had 20 somethings playing sophomores on Dawson's Creek, I think audiences are willing to suspend their disbelief enough to overlook a slight age difference. I think it would be better to have them being 20 or 21 and playing 17 year olds than it would be to have all new kids thrust in...especially after 4 films already.

Bump

Well there has been alot of news since this thread was last posted in. We now know that the new book will be out on July 16 and it will be around 670 some odd pages. Jk has had a baby in the last few weeks and we know that the half blood prince will not be Hagrid, Harry, Voldermort, or Dumbledore. Anyone else real excited about this book.

I pre-ordered the last one and everyone else had it before I did. I'll take my chances at the store.

on a side note, i really enjoyed the fifth book, it was long, but i felt it never lagged...i don't like it as much as the third, but it's definately my number 2 favorite

These books are incredible. I'll be getting the new one the night it becomes available. They are so addictive. I'm almost a thirty-something and a lot of my friends read and enjoy the series.
