Do You Believe in Gosh? Submitted by hedberg on Mon, 09/01/2008 - 22:33 hedberg's blog
We are EXCITED to announce that a new Mitch Hedberg CD, titled "Do You Believe In Gosh?" will be available September 9th, 2008.
You can preorder it from Comedy Central.
Recorded two months prior to his death, "Do You Believe In Gosh?" contains nearly 40 minutes of previously unreleased stand-up material. The CD captures most of the material Mitch was working on, for what would have been his next full-length album, in a free-form show with a large amount of audience interaction.
Listeners can expect the same bizarre one-liners like, “Is a hippopotamus a hippopotamus or just a really cool apoatmus?” delivered in the drawly, good-natured way only Hedberg could pull off. Mitch gives his unique point of view on such topics as the headless horseman, Medusa, whom he refers to as the “snake-haired bitch” and squirrels on water skis.
Also included in the CD package is a booklet including never-before-seen photos and excerpts from Mitch's private journals. The CD pulses with his unique wit and spirit and is a document of a comedy master.

Mitch Hedburg is The funniest comdeian I have ever discovered. My second is Stevn Wright and saying that I like Mitch A little better is saying alot. I just recently discovered him and watch him on youtube constantly. God, I cannot stop laughing with this guy. Had no idea he had a new cd out, but I enjoy watching him better. What a huge loss that was.

Speaking of comics who are no longer with us, did everyone here about the Bill Hicks biopic Russell Crowe is trying to put together (I believe to star in)?

That'd be awesome to see a film about Bill Hicks. I dunno if Russell Crowe could capture the voice accurately, but it'd be interesting to see him try.
As for Do You Believe In Gosh, its pretty damn funny. I'd have to listen to it again, but there's definitely several excellent one-liners that are sure to become fan favorites.

classic.
One of God's cruel tricks: a duck loves bread, but was not born with the ability to buy a loaf.
My favourite all time Mitch-ism came after a joke that didn't do so well:
"I hate it when the jokes don't kill, y'know? In comedy, you gotta start big, and you gotta end big. You can't be like pancakes ... all exciting at first, but by the end, you're fuckin sick of 'em."
