Erm...well it's not bad. It was totally not what I was expecting. It's more of a drama than it is a horror movie. It's like the bastard child of John Grisham and Stephen King.
It's decent, worth the matinee price but nothing more.

The general consensus is that it's not much of a "horror" movie at all. Kind of disappointing because the early previews showed promise.

The previews scare the fucking shit out of me, and movies NEVER scare me. But from what I've heard from people who've seen it, I think I'll be skipping this one.

i thought it was pretty damn good....the parts where shes possessed are great....but some of the story and plot are incredibly weak...however, the possession aspect is really scary......if they had focused more on her as opposed to the way the film is in flashbacks, this could have been really good.

I like the idea of a horror/courtroom drama. Saw Red Eye tonight, wish I had seen this instead.
Why the fuck would even bother giving that shitfest a chance?
It actually got pretty decent reviews, and McAdams is my new love interest. Plus it had Brian Cox who is a bad ass. I go to a movie pretty much every week, so I'll catch a shitfest more often then not. Should have seen the Constant Gardner instead, but it isn't showing at my favorite theater.

it was enjoyable, even though I was laughing my ass off at some of it especially the "possession" scenes, and when she started speaking German out of nowhere. I dont know why that was funny, but it was.

I won't see it in theaters but I'm sure I'll rent it. Some of us are old enough to remember the greatness was Wes Craven and still have hopes he could pull off another decent movie, though I'm not holding my breath.

yeah, i dont know...the possession scens were very well done and creepy as fuck i thought....i cant imagine how you thought they were funny
I haven't seen it though, so I personally can't comment.
that review isnt really good, i think hes reading a little too much into it for the religious brainwashing....the scary parts are really disturbing and creepy and the rest is kinda ho hum but id proly give it a B.

Eh, I doubt it. Knowing Hollywood, he's probably right on about the superstitious/religious/suspended belief stuff. Oh well, I'll never know.

really? I thought they were cheesy as hell. I agree with alot of what the posted review said, even though I thought the movie was enjoyable. Not worth the theater price, but it was enjoyable nonetheless

wel, i think it might be because im interested in this kinda stuff so it was a prolly a little less laughable....but you said it right, its enjoyable at least nothing earthshattering, and worth a rent or a cheap ticket to most people.
