Here's the deal: most of the stuff I'm seeing on Netflix is too normal for me. Lots of great movies, but I'm tired of only watching foreign dramas and the occasional comedy. I want to get some animated/sci-fi stuff but they pretty much only list anime, and the sci-fi recs are awful. Can some of you film buffs give me some really unique recs? Stuff I may not have heard of that's really interesting and the like.

Also, add the Doom Generation, Dead Alive and Gummo.

great movies turtles can fly (first film made in iraq after "democracy was established") any way incredible movie you need to see i can't reccommend this one enough the piano teacher pierrot le fou cecil be demented

by the way a lot of the movies i listed were viewed in my film theories class at USC taught by a man with purple arms, so expect anything and everything

First, I'd recommend a Korean movie called Save the Green Planet. It's completely insane, and a really good movie as well.
Also:
Some Takashi Miike, who is pretty much the king of anything weird and offensive in film today: Gozu Dead or Alive (make sure it's the Miike DOA, and not the one based on a video game) Ichi the Killer Happiness of the Katakuris Visitor Q Izo
Phenomena, a movie by Dario Argento, could also work for you. It features Jennifer Connelly, Donald Pleasance, and a heroic chimp. Suspiria and Inferno would also fit in the weird category.
Dellamorte Dellamore would be a great choice if you haven't seen it yet.
Planet of the Vampires, by Mario Bava, isn't really that weird, but it does fit the sci-fi requirement. Alien was partially based on this film.
