The thread of lost video games series', or those that have turned to shit.
This was the best platform game on ps1 (back when platformers were hot shit). There were sequels on the ps2. I've heard nothing about them.
Konami can't seem to do this series justice in three dimensions. Nothing since or prior compares to SOTN.
Dreamcast only series. There may be some handheld ports out there now. For its time, it was one of the most innovative fighters out there. The series mysteriously disappeared after the second one.
Mega Man 9 is cool, but it's hard to recognize it as more than a lazy effort from Capcom to hold the fans over. The X series had some of the best action on SNES. X4 was great on ps1, but the series never got fair treatment on the ps2. There hasn't been an X game in over four years, and it doesn't look like there will be one any time soon.
I feel like a new Tomb Raider game comes out every year. Loved the 2nd one. Played the third, thought it sucked, haven't given a shit since, and the reviews haven't been great either.
Shit got lame after the third one. Way too gimmicky, and sparked all the ripoffs involving bikes and whatnot.

I was never really into any of the post-NES Mega Man games, so I was glad they made Mega Man 9.

I've always been a fan of the series but the first three really were the best. I agree that they started to get a little gimmicky with the whole career storyline thing but they were still enjoyable games. The last couple have been bad though.
