Brittany Murphy Dies

Actress Brittany Murphy died last night after she went into cardiac arrest and couldn't be revived, reports TMZ.

The Fire Department reportedly received a call to the home. They immediately took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where they pronounced her dead upon arrival.

She was only 32 years old.

A 911 call was made at 8:00 AM from a home in Los Angeles that is listed as belonging to her husband, Simon Monjack, the Los Angeles City Fire Department tells TMZ.

Murphy was born in Atlanta and began acting as a young teenager in a series of television appearances.

Her breakthrough role was in the 1995 teen hit Clueless alongside Alicia Silverstone.

She went on to appear in critically acclaimed films including 8 Mile opposite rap star Eminem and the comic book adaption Sin City.

Murphy also provided the voice for Luanne Platter in long-running animated television series King of the Hill and Gloria the penguin in box office smash Happy Feet.

i wonder if her being mocked on SNL a week or 2 ago had anything to do w/ it.

i thought it was a funny portrayal, too bad it won't appear again.

Now TMZ is saying that her mom found her unconscious in the shower, and that she had diabetes. Who knows what is real/not.

I also have to say I find it slightly strange that her husband doesn't want an autopsy? She's 32. That alone is a reason for an autopsy.
