Awful. If you can suspend disbelief enough to buy into this lazily-written ADD-directed sandwich of shit, you've got more talent than I.
Almost impossible to review without going into major spoiler territory. "Mindless entertainment" is accurate, but I don't think that's what the filmmakers were going for with this one.

sheilah lebouf or whatever his name is is a funny entertaining guy. i don't know why they want him to succeed as an action/thriller star before he even plays his type. i feel like they are logjamming him into a hole that he doesn't fit in.

Well I've not seen this but had had some interest, so for the most part I'll probably steer clear of this until I do. But I know that I positively fell in love with Michelle Monaghan from "Kiss Kiss Bang Bang", though she's seemed to have had some missteps so far since. Like I guess it was just that important enough to her to have a leading role in a romantic comedy, that otherwise she was able to get herself stoned out enough everyday to convince herself that shit like that wedding flick with Patrick Dempsey was worth her time
Honestly I'm still on the fence with Shia. I think there may be some talent there, but frankly the audience wasn't going to accept anyone in the "sidekick" role like that in Indy 4, and Transformers, well, hello... Michael Bay.
Anyway the trailer on this one I felt was pretty intriguing, but how many thrillers have sold you on the trailer and ended up being shit. I've noticed just recently they've been playing it very secret who the voice on the phone was (in the trailers, at least), it seemed obvious from the very first time I saw it that it was Julianne Moore, but I've noticed she doesn't seem to have any IMDB credit.

saw this movie today. it wasn't great, but it wasn't the shit pile you fuckers are making it out to be. eventually, when computer develop enough to the point where they are able to think on their own and become self aware, something along the lines of this may become a semi-reality.
the acting was good in all honesty. sure there were some story points that fall flat, but not every movie is supposed to be "the next big thing". for what it was, a five dollar movie...which is what i paid, it was a decent thrill ride. it won't win any awards, but it wasn't "pure shit" either

i saw it last night on an IMAX screen and sweet jezus did the action sequences look fuckin awesome on that big screen. i actually enjoyed this as I went in expecting more crashes than storyline. Good hi-tech thriller. Didn't quite care for the ending, as in the last 2 mins with the birthday.

Okay so I just watched this today, and given that the DVD has been out now for a good few weeks at least, I'm not going to bother spoiler tagging any of this.
Either I have a correct guess at something they left open ended, or there's a HUUUUUGE plothole in this movie. "Aria" (or whatever the computer program was called voiced by Julianne Moore), she couldn't have been the one to organize the shipping of all those weapons to Jerry's apartment in the first act, because how is it advantageous to her overall plan to have Homeland Security chasing after Jerry from the very start? If anything that totally hampers what she's trying to accomplish. The best guess I can come up with is that in fact Ethan, Jerry's twin, purposely bought and sent all that stuff to Jerry's apartment for the express purpose of putting the authorities on his tail. Ethan perhaps knew by Aria going rogue that she'd want to involve Jerry to finish her plan because of Jerry's exact likeness to Ethan, so Ethan initiated all of that to try and slow Aria down and fuck up her plan.
No... ?
EDIT: also, I didn't think the movie was shit, but it did run a bit long, I was definitely starting to feel it as the 2nd act was going into the 3rd, roundabout there I think. It seems there could've been at least 5 minutes, possibly up to 10 cut from this. Oh and the other sort of problem with Jerry firing the shot in the middle of the State Of The Union -- even at that point, he had absolutely no way of knowing how the attack/bomb was being triggered, I mean he'd learned about the "HEX" stuff from Billy Bob Thornton, but he couldn't have known it was planted in Rachel's necklace and Sam's trumpet. So my point is he runs into the middle of the floor and fires the shot to clear the room, but for all he knew, Aria's plan would've still been able to go off and have all the cabinet murdered.

You're expending too much thought on this turd. Unless you want to come to the realization that it is, in the end, a turd.
