I'm off to see Judas Priest (insert how Randall likes shit metal bands joke here) on Wednesday in Belfast. Was reading an interview with the singer, Rob Halford, and he's on the voting panel for the Grammy Awards. JP were nominated for Metal Performance or some such, but he was away when his list of potential nominees came in and he didn't realize JP were nominated until people started texting him.

So they're voted on by other muso's? Who is on the panel I wonder? You never hear of any musicians on it, do you? Rob Halford's a pretty random dude to be voting on the Grammy panel. He gets a vote in every category, I think. Fucking weird. Anyone know how this works?

I'm not sure who makes up the Grammy voters, but I think I read once that all Grammy voters get to vote for the main categories (album of the year, song of the year, record of the year), but aside from that you only vote in the category you specialize in. At least that's how I think it works. I don't think Rob Halford gets to vote for the Best Tejano Album.

Aww, WTF??? I'd love to hear his take on David Lee Garza y Los Musicales' new album.
