True Lies is a 1994 action-comedy film. It was directed by James Cameron, and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton, Tia Carrere, Charlton Heston, and Art Malik. Eliza Dushku makes an early career appearance in this film. True Lies is an extended remake of the 1991 French film La Totale!, directed by Claude Zidi and starring Thierry Lhermitte and Miou-Miou. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects and won a Golden Globe for Curtis' portrayal of Helen Tasker.

In short: Harry Tasker (Arnold) is a spy, his partner being Gibson (Arnold). Yet Tasker's wife Helen (Curtis) doesn't know; she's so bored with their marriage that she starts messing around with a used car salesman claiming to be a spy, Simon (Paxton). Tasker finds out, hunts them both down, then tries to reconcile his marriage while battling terrorists bent on detonating a nuclear weapon in the U.S.

some great comedy in here

Quote:
Harry: Helen... is having an affair!
Gib: Welcome to the club!

Quote:
Gib: Same exact thing happened to me with wife #2, 'member? I had no idea, nothing's going on. Right? I come home one day and the house is completely empty, and I mean completely empty. She even took the ice cube trays out of the freezer! What kind of a sick bitch takes the ice cube trays out of the freezer?

Quote:
Gib: Women. Can't live with 'em. Can't kill 'em!

Quote:
Samir: Is there anything you'd like to tell me before we start?
Harry: Yeah: I'm going to kill you pretty soon.
Samir: And how exactly are you going to do that?
Harry Tasker: First I'm gonna use you as a human shield, then I gonna kill this guard over there, with the Patterson trocar on the table. Then I was thinking about breaking your neck.
Samir: And how are you going to do all that?
Harry: You know my handcuffs?
Samir: Hmm...
Harry: [hold his hands up] I picked them.

I remember seeing this in the theater when it came out with my family... entertaining film; haven't watched it in years. Maybe I'll go rent it this weekend.

Bill Paxton's shining moment:

Harry: So who are you working on right now?
Simon: I always got a few on the line. But there's this one chick I got right now. I got her panting like a dog. Its great.
Harry: What does she do?
Simon: Some sort of legal secretary. Married to some boring jerk.
Harry: Married to some boring jerk.
Simon: Aww, but she could be so hot if she wanted to. She's like all these babes, you get their pilot lit, they could suck start a leafblower. And she's got the most incredible body too and a pair of titties that make you wanna stand up and beg for buttermilk. Ass like a ten year old boy! AHAHAHAHA!
Simon: [Harry punches him in the face instantly breaking Simon's neck and the daydream ends] AHAHAHAHAHA!

Probably my favorite action movie of all time.

Gib: So your life's in the crapper. So you wife is banging a used car salesman - it's humiliating, I know. But goddamnit, Harry, take it like a man!

Tom Arnold and Bill Paxton were both brilliant in this. I fucking despise Tia Carrere, though.

This was actually one of my favorite movies when I was a kid, along with Fargo, oddly enough. I should search this one out, again.

The woman running naked in panic from Die Hard 1 was more satisfying than that.

If she had kept her mouth shut the whole movie and showed a little tit, I might think differently. Might.

She gets diamond ring-punched and champagne bottle-head bludgeoned. It makes up for it.

Not that it was hard but I totally called the method of the bad guy's death before it happened.
