I loved the opening, harking back to events in the movie.
As far as the episode itself, it was ok. They're never going to reach the level they did in the glory takes, so you kinda have to take what you can get at this point.

Simpsons episodes always get better with repeated viewings. Even back during the classic phase of Seasons 3-8, I'd always laugh more with each viewing because I had time to talk about certain parts of the show with friends (do the voices and stuff). This would always make the next viewing much more enjoyable (except for "The Principal and the Pauper", right?)
The first viewing of a Simpsons episode is like getting ready to watch it in some ways.
