Meh. http://www.apple.com/icloud/

There are already apps that do all of this, and if I actually want to sync my music on the cloud, I have to pay for it.

You can pretty much say that for Apple's entire presser today. Meh.

What looks so good? Most of its key features have been available on Android or Blackberry for years. Everything other than the reminders system and game center are playing catchup to other OS's. I could see how one would be excited if you like periodicals though. :)

I use Amazon's, so that I have access to my music at work.
It's free, and not pretentious. :peace:

If you leave your computer running at home you can stream your music through Opera.

What's your favorite? Mine is US Weekly.

I'm not going to knock the iOS. I've got an iPod Touch, and those are some nice improvements. But the cloud? Not particularly useful.

The big thing with all the various iCloud features is the integration of them all into one cohesive, well designed solution. And the kicker is that other apps will be able to take advantage of it.

It would also be nice if I could update my podcasts without a computer. Why can't I set my ipod to check podcasts while I'm sleeping and update, so every morning I have the most up to date shows on my ipod? As it stands, I have to let iTunes download shit when I open it and then it'll sync when I plug in my ipod.

I think that's exactly what iOS 5 is going to do, isn't it?

Not really. I will still have to turn my computer on and open iTunes to download the podcast. Then, if I leave my computer on when I plug my iPod in at night in my bedroom, it will sync.

I just want the iPod to pull the most recent, fucking podcast down from the Internet on it's own, whether I have my computer on or not. Whether I have iTunes open or not.

iTunes also stops downloading a podcast if I haven't listened in a while. Hey, Jobs, I said I wanted the five most recent podcasts on my iPod. Just put the five most fucking recent podcasts on my ipod.

i'm all about the cloud, will gladly pay $25 or whatever to get something new downloaded any time

can't tell you how many times i've wished something was on my phone but didn't feel like syncing it.

tried it out now with the stuff i've used gift cards on in the past and it works great, can't wait to have access to my entire collection

I've been in the Google Music beta and it's really smooth. Automatically synced up all the music from my computer and even provides access to some free music. Only thing is they do plan to eventually have a pay model, but for now I'm enjoying it all free! :D
The music selection is perhaps the only thing I see this being best at, considering Apple's got more experience with that. Otherwise this all sounds rather underwhelming.
" iCloud stores your content so it’s always accessible from your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.* It gives you instant access to your music, apps, latest photos, and more. And it keeps your email, contacts, and calendars up to date across all your devices."
Nice, my Google account already does that for free.

5GB free is pretty nice though. I have a number of other free cloud services including Amazon, Dropbox, and Asus. I think they're all 2GB each. Is that 5GB available to anyone who signs up or only if you have a device running iOS 5?

Not yet.

I just started messing with it yesterday. It loaded up some of my music as I went to sleep last night. I've already seen some really nice benefits to having it, for listening to my most recent downloads. I never seem to update my external drive that I have at work, so this is kind of nifty.
