At work we just finished a contest. It was 'what book would you save from burning?' We had students select the book then give their reason for saving this one book. The winner, who chose Slaughterhouse Five, will receive a free 25$ coupon to a local restaurant. The book burning tied into this country wide attempt to get people to read Fahrenheit 451 called the 'big read.' So, saving a book from being burned and 451, it ties together well. Anyway, what one book would you save from burning if you could save only one?

I would save 5001 Witty Responses to Proposed Hypothetical Situations by L Ron Hubbard.

Interesting. The focus or what I was looking for in the contest at work was fiction based books. It makes it a little more difficult.

I could see such a book being insanely hilarious.

This book is supposed to save you, not the other way around.

If it was fiction it would have to be The Chrysalids. If it could be either fiction or non fiction, it would be non fiction. But what, I don't know. I probably haven't even heard of it yet. Of the ones I know of, maybe Inside Out, Nick Mason.
