I guess I just don't see the appeal. What's the point in voiding the warranty when I'm already more than satisfied with it as it is?

I don't use many apps, really only Mail, Calendar, Safari, Facebook, Words with Friends and Instagam.

But hey, whatever you're into.

Jailbreaking is all about making it a more user friendly, pleasant experience. I thinkit does. Some of the ones i have:

winterboard lets you choose themes profiles and fonts and backgrounds.
useragent faker lets you browse actual sites instead of their mobile versions.
tab+ lets you have as many tabs open in safari as you like and different functions and controls.
SBS settings lets you move toggles of your choice into your springboard while apps are still running.
SBRotator 5 lets you choose between landscape or portrait on your springboard as on ipad.
safari unibar makes your address bar your search engine combined into one.
Runningindicator makes running apps glow and allows you close them at will to save battery life.
Pull to refesh safari lets you pull down on any safari screen to refesh it.
Pull to dismiss allows you to kill the keyboard.(this and the one above are gold.)
My3g kids your phone into thinking it's always on wifi/3g in order to download/upload big files.
Multiicon mover lets you do just that.
Five column springboard allows you have five columns instead of the compulsory 4.
Five icon switcher allows for more options in multitasking.
five icon dock is just that.
Display out allows your iphone be hooked via usb/hdmi lead to tv/laptop.
bite sms replaces your inbuilt sms program with an infinitely better one.
bigify allows you make icons smaller bigger sideways or translucent.
Aptbackup saves all your jailbroken apps.
Appsync allows you to sync your jailbroken phones apps/tweaks/games/whatever with itunes.
Appstorelous places 2 buttons in the app store i order to download stuff for trial.(aka free).
torrentsapp allows you grab torents straight to your phone.
androidlock XT gives you that swanky keypad doodle lock android phones have.
Activator allows centralized gestures and button shortcuts.
Action menu adds actons to your action menu.

these are just a thimble full...there's millions of cool tweaks out there on cydia and other sites.
funy seeing people go all Sheldon about jailbreaking/invalidating the warranty. There's ways around these things and you can always unjailbreak your phone if you need servicing or dont like it.

I think it's humorous that you need to jailbreak the iPhone to do a lot of the things Android phones can do without rooting. I understand why Apple does things they way they do though. I have an Android device and the fragmentation is real nuisance. There's no doubt I would jailbreak an iPhone if I owned one. I like being able to do everything I want to do.

If you have/want tons of apps and want to customise the display in crazy ways, I guess I can see the attraction - but I honestly wouldn't need any of those things you listed above.

I'm envious of the spare time you must have.

I've grown tired of the whole "you pointed something out, therefore you must be a homeless man" thing.

I would only jailbreak in order to customize the interface. Everything else about the phone functions just fine.

re: Words with Friends

I really don't care for the "(ex-workmate/friend's partner who I barely know/friend I don't like all that much) needs more games!" reminder that's appearing in the Your Move section after the new update.

Apart from it being generally annoying, it makes it appear as though I have moves to play when I don't.

I'm not seeing anything like that in the Android version.
