I went into it with no expectations and knowing nothing about it. I was blown away.

Brilliantly-written, well-acted, beautiful cinematography (makes me really want to see Californian wine country).

The people I saw it with, we all decided it was a middle-aged-existential comedic-drama. It's a week in the lives of two men who, in every intention of the word, are losers. But they're both endearing, in spite of their faults.

If anyone really cares about cinema and likes good writing, I'd recommend this film. Probably one of my favorite movies this year.

I saw the preview for this and was interested. So I might check it out if I can find it at any local theaters.

Great movie! Me and the g/f caught it this past weekend and both of us thoroughly enjoyed it. Two thumbs up

I saw it yesterday. Outstanding movie. You really get to feel for the poor Miles. Great performance by both Paul Giamatti and this other guy who plays Jack. I love the mixture of moods you get into this movie....from funny to hilarious to sad....sometimes even all of those at the same time like when Miles is engulfing a bottle of wine while running down the hill in the vineyard with Jack running after him.

Oh...and the actress who played Maya was so beautiful when she was smiling. She'd win my heart with a mere smirk.

I really want to see this movie. But I'm afraid I'm going to hit that same road as I did with "lost in translation". Its like the lost in translation of this year and this time it better be decent.

I saw an advance screening of it a couple weeks before it came out, so I also had no expectations. I thought it was above average, and I was totally surprised when it got so much critical acclaim. Whatever. It's still a pretty good movie, but I don't really care if I ever see it again.

I want to see this pretty badly. I've always been a fan of Alexander Payne's work.

After Lost in Translation and ESOTSM, I haven't had the same level of expectation for a film in recent years. Anything short of a five star film will be a let down for me.

Cmon now. I'm all for 'oh boy' when it comes to LiT, but it wasn't THAT much better than ES.

4 1/2. Close enough.

Man that sex scene was hilarious. This has been a great year for sex scenes. First I :heartbeat: Huckabees, now this one.

I saw this recently. I'm glad I watched it and I understand what they were doing with the grapes parallelism and everything. But I honestly wasn't blown away. It was good. But I guess it wasn't my style.

I thought it was a little longer than it needed to be. I can't remember it totally, but I feel like they could have picked up when they were in the car driving and cut the beginning.

it is extremely overrated, but then again, i haven't had a midlife crisis, so i just couldn't get the humor.
