I'm not sure where the Hellboy threads went, but the search tool yielded nada.

"Hellboy 2" Script Review

A script review for Hellboy 2: The Golden Army has gone online at Latino Review, here's a sample:

"Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is a huge movie. It's much bigger than the first, including flashbacks to the Golden Army tearing through a human army, a troll market filled with dozens of strange monsters, a five story tall tree elemental battling Hellboy on the Brooklyn Bridge, Yokai spirits rampaging in Tokyo and a dragon attacking Moscow. And that's just for starters!

It's also action packed. The script barely lets up from battle to battle, each getting bigger with bigger stakes. But the script, by Guillermo del Toro, doesn't sacrifice these vivid and fun characters for the sake of action. Abe gets more screentime this go round, and he has a very touching emotional story, and even Mysterio-looking Johann has an emotional journey. Of course at the center is Hellboy and Liz trying to hold their unlikely love together".

First film was good, although a tad undercooked. I love the comic, and hopefully this will be to the first what Spidey 2 and X2 were to their originals.

it was fun. Hellboy is a good character. Not sure I'd call it 'good'

So the trailer looks pretty good? I haven't been able to watch it yet. I really enjoyed the first movie.

An imagination BLAST. Visually astounding, funny, great character work, awesome monsters, and spectacular design and environment. The Troll Market sequence is the most incredible 30 minutes of film that I've seen in awhile. Johann Strauss is brilliant. The elementals are great. The chemistry of Hellboy and Abe Sapien is dead on.

Way better than the 1st movie, which was entertaining enough, but was just undercooked. This is delToro uncorked. This is one of those movies that truly offers you something you never seen before, in spades.

Loved it.

I really enjoyed the first one, and it's probably one of my favorite comic book based films out there (I'm not a comic book fan either). So I'm not if sure if it resembles much of the comic book's elements or not.

I can't wait for the sequel. :thumbsup:

this was pretty good, minus a somewhat cheesy script. i was stoned out on benadryl the whole movie so i couldn't really make a real emotional judgement haha.
AAA+++ to the character design.

I enjoyed it, but the fact that the entire movie didn't have to happen if the princess wasn't retarded detracted a bit, I think.

Did the monsters look believable (ie Pan's Labrynth) or like shitty CGI (ie Hellboy 1)?

I'm just a Ron Perleman fan so I would go simply to see him and hopefully some quality make-up effects a la Pan's Labrynth.

Mostly believable. Incredible make-up and mechanical effects. Some CG, but mostly for enhancements. Or elementals. Or tooth fairies.
