ive picked a few up just for the covers. i will wait to pick up the trade paperback for the whole story, but i have been following it on wiki and comicbookresourcesforum
ive bought a few DC hardcovers of late, along with all four volumes of 52
green lantern rebirth, justice 1, 2, 3, green lanter wanted:hal jordan, JLA - tornados path
I just ordered the Watchmen. No, I haven't read it before.
I'm starting to think that I should, as well. I'm starting now to work my way through the new Batman canon, having just finished The Long Halloween for the second time and now looking for more Batman must-reads ... Watchmen seems straight up my alley. Let me know what you think of it!
Will do. It was kind of an impulse buy on Amazon last night. I'm slowly trying to finish out my Sin City collection, and needed something else on the order to get the free shipping and thought, why the hell haven't I read this?
I'll let you know how it is.
It's fucking fantastic.
Watchmen is amazing. I read it around the same time as Dark Knight Returns and found it to be way superior to DKR
I'm thinking about buying the Long Halloween, Batman Year One, and the first two Sin City volumes. Thats about 47 bucks total on amazon with free shipping. Hmm.

Are there any extras in the third Walking Dead HC?
I haven't started it yet, but can let you know. What do you mean by extras exactly though?

i tried to do a search but it kept timing out so im starting another one.
i dont collect single issues but more the Trade Paper Backs or Hard Covers (TPB or HC from here on out)
some of the stories are extremely entertaining, and as far as writers go, i would suggest geoff johns or brad metzer as well as mark millar and peter david
i probably have over 150 different books, all either DC or Marvel. it used to be strictly marvel but i have really enjoyed Green Lantern and Justice League of America, as well as Justice Society of America.
DC i feel has much better books when dealing with space (blackest night coming up, the corps wars in the past and Green Lantern in general)
Marvel has the better characters overall from my opinion.
i know alot of fanboys that complain about wolverine/deadpool, but thats cause they pick up 56 issues a month and cant help but get all the guest shots.
some books i would recommend if youre looking to buy either TPB or HC's
DC
Green Lantern: Rebirth - years ago, feeling that Hal Jordan became stale, DC had him go off the deep edge and go on a cosmic killing spree of epic proportions. Rebirth redeems Hal Jordan and reuinites him with the friends who always felt that Hal didnt do the killings
Green Lantern: Secret Origins - this retells how Hal Jordan was chosen to be a green lantern, the cosmic police force of the universe
Kingdom Come - what happens when a new breed of hero finds its easier to kill than arrest?
Justice League of America: The Tornados Path - the JLA reforms building from the ground up after the events of Infinite Crisis
Identity Crisis - An old fashioned murder mystery reveals dark secrets from supposed heros
Infinite Crisis - years ago, DC cleaned up its continuity by merging characters and giving them new origins, including superman and wonderwoman. but what happens when superboy isnt happy with the outcome?
52 - who are the heros of today, when the heros of yesterday go into seclusion to figure out if they are on the right path or not?
Marvel
Wolverine: Enemy of the State - when the largest criminal orginization converts the best there is at what he does to their side and sends him after the heros of the marvel universe, is anyone really safe?
Planet Hulk - tired of the hulks mindless rampages, a secret carde of earths heros vote to exile the hulk to a uninhabited planet. but when the ship gets knocked off course and lands on a gladiator like planet, can the hulk survive?
War World Hulk - take one pissed off hulk and his friends and add a healthy dose of vegenance and see how angry the hulk can be for a planet dying as well as his love and his child!
The Ultimates - (any volume excluding 3) see new twists and takes on Marvels Mighty Avengers and learn why Samuel L is nick fury
Xmen: messiah complex - no mutants have been born in several months. when one is born, everyone wants her. who gets her and what does she mean to the future. brings the Xmen into direct conflict with the Marauders once again.

I really only tend to read the Batman related stuff, although I'll pickup some of the better Marvel trades. Here's another couple of Batman trades to add to Peep's list:
Batman: Year One - Frank Miller's re-telling of Batman's first origins is pure genius!
The Long Halloween - A classic who-dunnit set in Batman's first days as a crime fighter. Also serves as the origin of Two-Face.
The Killing Joke - Alan Moore. The Joker. 'Nuff said
Hush - Worth it for Jim Lee's gorgeous artwork.
There's a list as long as my arm I could add, but I'm at work in a hurry so this'll do for now...

i have all of those except for year one. hush was good, as you said, lees artwork is incredible (though i wish he had stayed on xmen). killing joke is really disturbing and hush is a good mystery story, probably some of leobs best work ever
