An interesting question. I have my favourites, but would I watch them if I stumble upon them? Godfather, LOTR, Blade Runner, Apocolypse Now, Man On The Moon, LA Confidential and many more. The answer is no. Once in a while I'll pull an old favourite out and love it once again. But watching something so epic on a random day? Hmm, no I would rather saviour them when the time is right.
But there are some movies, especially comedies, that I feel so lighhearted about, that I could watch them at any time. Movies that are compelling not because of epic greatness, but because of something more basic. A few are still among my favourites, while others are just good for a quick laugh.
Star Wars IV - A New Hope Singles The Fifth Element Life Of Brian Dumb And Dumber Liar, Liar
I'll also agree with some of the movies listed below, which could easily catch my attention, like the Lethal Weapon, Die Hard and Jurassic Park movies.
