So this gem has a 97% rottentomato rating as of right now. That is actually quite a surprise. And it is described as Top Gun meets an Iraq War movie.

And you know what the best part about it is? I heard it is propaganda free. Just a straight forward story.

just got back from seeing this. Not what I expected. Kinda like several short episodes of a combat tv show played back to back.
Very intense at times. Always incredibly graphic.
I'd recommend it.

It's good. There's not really a plot through-line, narratively speaking; it's more character-driven and episodic; almost a documentary. And the character arcs aren't obvious until the end. BUT, it works, and it's really well directed and acted.

agree. Pretty original war film with a different take.

Intense scenes.

January 12? I was hoping it'd be earlier than that. Oh well.

Loved it.

If not for Pixar's Up, this should be best picture. Better than Up in the Air, Moon, and Basterds.

I saw this one yesterday. The action scenes were very tense and very engaging. Overall, it was good, but there was something lacking. It pushed its viewpoints a little too hard, with characters out and out saying things that didn't need to be said, unnecessarily explaining exactly what the point of the scene was.

The best thing about it is how it shows both sides, it is neither for war or against it, it makes strong cases for both and walks a fine line that not a single war movie has in recent history.
