I've played and loved Legend of Zelda on every system it's been on and haven't gotten to it on Wii yet but I think it's the only game I'd like on Wii and while I love games of that type Xbox seems to be better for them, but is it really? Can anyone advise which system I should get?

Really? I hadn't really even considered that to be honest. Loved Metal Gear Solid on playstation though. That could be a goer. Thanks man. made my situation a little trickier but more to think on

I like puzzle solving adventure type stuff like Zelda/MGS/Final Fantasy. IS PS best for this then? I don't care for online gaming really at all.
They're are some really quality puzzle games on the Wii that you could find for pretty cheap (ex. Zelda, Tetris, Zak and Wiki). If you're not a fan of online gaming and you don't that often I'd say that's a safe bet. But, I would say PS3 if you want a good long term investment.

Without a doubt, PS3. Tons of great games, Bluray, reliability...need I go on?
I know you said you don't care about online play, but on the off chance you want to play something online, you can just create an account for free whereas with the 360 you have to pay a fee.

to elaborate on my earlier post...
ps3 is the choice i would make. in fact, i did make that choice just a month or so ago... im really glad i did. first off, it was made a little easier due to the fact that my roommate has a 360. so if i feel the need to play halo, fable, or the first bioshock, theyre right downstairs.
a good amount of the games that im interested in lately seem to be available on both ps3 and 360 (bioshock 2, batman: arkham, final fantasy xiii, among others) so i instead looked to exclusives.
god of war 3: this is going to be huge for me. i have played the ps2 god of war games (and the ps3 collection of them in hi def) many, MANY times. i couldnt be more excited for a game than i am for this.
metal gear solid 4: i still havent played this... but metal gear 3 may be my favorite game of the last generation. and ive heard nothing but good things about this one.
little big planet:i dont feel like explaining this game right now, but check it out. its unique, fun, and only on ps3.
plus, its a top notch bluray player, and the network (as has been mentioned) is free to join/play on.

I'm just gonna reiterate what others have already said. Go with the PS3 man its defiantly worth the investment. So many good games many which have already been mentioned but I'm gonna throw Heavy Rain in as well.
