ive seen the first two and ive liked it so far but it hasnt blown my mind yet. i have high expectations since David Simons aqnd Ed Burns are involved. I think the Wire is the best television show ever so this one has a lot to live up to. It is definately enjoyable and i look forward to checking out more.

I DVRed this, so I have the first 4 episodes taped. When the wife and I watched the first episode, we were bored to death. She gave up on it, but I was willing to give it another shot because, from experience, a lot of pilot or first episodes start the series off slowly. I hope that this is the case with this show. I plan on watching episode 2 tonight. I hope it's better than the first episode.

My wife bailed on it too cause she had trouble following it. If you can get through the marine lingo and just concentrate on the characters it's pretty damn good. I'm definitely going to get the book soon.

This is one of the better shows HBO's put out recently. The actors are great. Its a great depiction of the chaos and incompetence in the military planning of the Iraq invasion. The banter between the soldiers is really amusing. Its really quite good.

Rudy is played by himself, as I learned in the bonus feature. (or maybe it was a TV program, I don't recall) Was anyone else from the real unit involved?

I forget the guy's name but one of the officers was the main consultant for the entire series. I believe it's on the wikipedia page.
