this speaks to the type of tv programming that seems to be prevalent these days, but my initial reaction to the thread title was, 'why the fuck would al pacino host a game show based on a computer game?".

What do you mean by 'type' of TV programming? Like cinematic 'biographies' that brush the surface of the life of a controversial person?

that much of tv these days is game shows, "reality", and celebrity competitions, or mixtures of the three.

Pulled this off the torrent sites a couple nights ago and watched it, very good film, and Pacino's best acting in YEARS, by far. He completely disappears into the role. Probably looking at a Best Actor Emmy (without question he gets a nom).
